We are hiring a VP, General Manager, Wholesale Business , to strategically expand and profitably scale the Highlights Book Publishing and Consumer Goods business lines (toy/game/kits/merchandise).
The GM will be responsible for delivering on the revenue, margin, and profit goals for our wholesale business, consistent with our brand vision and enterprise goals.
The ideal candidate will have experience with P&L ownership both in driving profitable growth with established brands, and in successfully launching go-to-market strategies for new product lines and categories.
Core Focus:
Drive the scale and profitability of our existing Book Publishing business, with a rigorous focus on margin and productivity.
Working with functional partners across the organization, lead the launch of a Go-to-Market strategy for our Consumer Goods product lines.
Engage in partnership with Consumer Business Leadership Team to maximize brand impact across all markets and product categories and create a coherent brand presence.
Responsibilities:
Book Publishing :
Oversee the strategic relationship with our distribution partner, driving growth in all channels.
Manage and evolve key relationships with major retailers; identify opportunities for channel expansion and increased market share.
Partner with the SVP of Marketing for the Highlights subscriptions businesses and the corporate performance marketing team to create a coherent, profitable brand presence on Amazon across all product categories and marketplacesPartner with the Editorial team to develop a profitable, productive book portfolio that is market informed, and delivers a clear, brand-enhancing competitive advantage.
Partner with Finance and Operations to deliver financial results prioritizing growth and scale, grounded in a rigorous focus on continuous margin improvements and operational efficiencies.
Lead Book Sales and Marketing TeamConsumer Goods :
Lead a cross-functional team in the creation and execution of the Go-to-Market strategy for a Consumer Goods line that amplifies our Book Business and expands our brand footprint.
Build a GTM plan that identifies the business requirements essential for a scalable, sustainable business, including capabilities, expertise, relationships,Working closely with Finance, identify the required resources, metrics, investment, and timelines for success.
Build and drive business cases for new initiatives within wholesale/retailUtilize history and insights from our existing business, as well as external industry patterning and key customer input to create a business that drives both revenue and profit and that expands our brand footprint.
Lead the Consumer Goods Sales and Marketing TeamRequirements:

years' experience in a leadership role in Publishing and/or Goods.
Experience with building business on key brick & mortar retailersExperience with building business on Amazon, Target.
com and Walmart.
comExperience building and growing programmatic/planogram/category-based sales businessDemonstrated success in business development and sales efforts with track record of developing new, profitable businesses within traditional and non-traditional retail business modelsExperience in children's publishingExperience in children's toys a benefitProven track record of growing, leading and retaining a high performing sales and retail marketing teamStrong analytical skillsStrong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally at all levelsProven experience in working across channels and building collaborative partnerships across functionsPhysical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Pay RangeThe typical pay range for this role is:
Paygrade:
E22Minimum - Maximum$157,100- $235,650Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.
The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including location, experience, and equity within the organization.
